Fancy Friday: Around the World

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the challenge is Around the World. When I first saw what the challenge was this week, I thought about making a manicure with flags from all the places I have visited around the world, but I already did that once. That is why I allowed myself to use my artistic freedom and make a galaxy manicure. If you have to go all around the world, you should go to space, right? Maybe not, but I made a galaxy manicure anyway!

I also wanted to show you guys my first try at making a galaxy manicure a little over a year ago. That is why I decided to make a 'Then and Now', to show you guys how much I have developed this last year!

Then

For the 'Now' manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by cutepolish on YouTube using Essie Blanc (white), Essie In the Cab-Ana (turquoise), Essie Mesmerize (blue), Essie After School Boy Blazer (dark blue), Ciaté Big Yellow Taxi (yellow), Maybelline Coral Craze (orange), Essie No Place Like Chrome (silver) and China Glaze Fairy Dust (silver glitter).

Now

I really have developed a lot this last year and I am really proud of myself!
What do you girls think about the 'Now' manicure? Let me know in the comments!

Essie Jag-U-Are

Hi girls!

Today I have an Essie polish to swatch and review for you guys - Essie Jag-U-Are.
Jag-U-Are is a cherry red nail polish with gold shimmer.

The formula was really good and so was the opacity - it was a little streaky on the first coat, but with just two thin coats it was fully opaque.
The nail polish was really hard to photograph and the picture below doesn't even do it justice - the shimmer is more conspicuous and it is much more vibrant in real life!

I love red nail polishes and this one is so unique and beautiful with the gold shimmer!

More Water Marble

Hello ladies!

Tomorrow is my first day at Aarhus University, so I decided to make some nail art for the occasion - another water marble skittlette manicure!

If you do not know what water marble is, you can see this tutorial by Sara from SaraBeautyCorner on YouTube, where she explains the basics of water marbling.
If you do not know what a skittlette manicure is, you can read about how Marta from Chit Chat Nails explains it here.

For the manicure I used one of my favorite blue nail polishes OPI Dating A Royal on my thumb and index finger and the blue texture glitter Essie Lots of Lux on my pinky. On my middle and ring finger I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I water marbled with the blue OPI Dating A Royal, the light pink OPI Mod About You and the black Essie Licorice.

I am so happy with the result and I am really excited to wear it for my first day at the university!

Matching the weather

Hey guys!

Today my nails are matching the weather - grey and boring! I wish the weather these days would match these nails instead!
Down below is a picture of the weather in Aarhus, Denmark today.

To match the grey weather I am wearing L'Oréal Metropolitan, which is a medium/dark grey creme polish.

The formula was amazing - it went on like butter! The opacity was good as well - a little streaky on the first coat, but easily builtable with just two thin coats. I really like the brushes on these L'Oréal polishes - they are just perfect!

I love grey nail polishes - they are so chic and elegant! I do not like grey weather though.

Fancy Friday: Untried

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the challenge is untried, which can mean both an untried technique or untried nail polishes. I decided to try an untried technique - negative space - with one of my untried nail polishes (like a boss!).

Down below is a picture of my little drawer of untried nail polishes (those of you following me on Instagram have already seen this). I keep all my untried nail polishes apart from my other nail polishes so I know which ones to try out and use next!

For the manicure I was inspired by this negative space manicure by Alice at One Nail To Rule Them All.
I followed her tutorial using a medium sized dotting tool, By K. Dandelion (yellow), Essie Mint Candy Apple (blue), Etude House OR202 (orange) and my untried L'Oréal Pistachio Drage (off-white green). For the matte effect I used Essie Matte About You!

I do not know if I like this particular negative space manicure, but I will definitely try the technique again sometime.

OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm?

Hey guys!

Today I have another OPI nail polish from the new OPI Nordic Collection to swatch and review for you - OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm?
Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? is a medium blurple (blue/purple) creme nail polish.

Both the formula and the opacity is great - it is a little streaky on the first coat but easily builtable with just two coats. Like OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries this one is also a little on the thin side but not in a cuticle-seeking way.

This colour looks purple in most lightings and it is a blue-toned purple, but in some lights it looks blue and I love that about it!
What do you girls think about this colour? Let me know in the comments!

Water Marble

Hello ladies!

If you do not know what a skittlette manicure is, you can read about how Marta from Chit Chat Nails explains it here.

For the manicure I used my new favorite red nail polish L'Oréal Exquisite Scarlet on my thumb and index finger and the red texture glitter OPI Magazine Cover Mouse on my pinky. On my middle and ring finger I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I water marbled with the red L'Oréal Exquisite Scarlet, the light grey Essie Cocktail Bling and the dark grey L'Oréal Rue Montmartre.

This is my first successful try at water marbling and I am really proud of my self!

Glitter Placement

Hi girls!

Today I also have some nail art to show you guys!
In last week's Fancy Friday I did some glitter placement with Maybelline Undress to Impress from the new Maybelline Stripped Nudes collection. It just so happens that my boyfriend gifted me the bronze glitter Maybelline Bronze Me Up from the same collection as Maybelline Undress to Impress a few days ago, so today I decided to use that to make some more glitter placement!

For the manicure I started off with the chocolate brown nail polish OPI Ice-bergers & Fries. Afterwards I used a small dotting tool to place the bronze glitters from Maybelline Bronze Me Up in a pattern on the accent nail.

I am loving how easy glitter placement nail art is, but how stunning the result is!

OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries

Hey guys!

Today I have an OPI nail polish from the new OPI Nordic Collection to swatch and review for you - OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries.
Ice-Bergers & Fries is a warm toned chocolate brown creme polish.

The formula is good - it is a little in the thin side, but not in that annoying cuticle seeking way. Other than that the formula is smooth and buttery. The opacity is good as well and it only needed two to three coats for full coverage.

I love this chocolate brown nail polish!

Fancy Friday: Glitter

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday challenge is glitter, so I decided to do some glitter placement.

For the manicure I started off with an off-white sea foam green base of Essie Absolutely Shore. Afterwards I used a small dotting tool to place the gold glitters from Maybelline Undress to Impress in a pattern on the accent nail.

Even though glitter placement is really time consuming, it is almost alway worth the time and effort!

The Ultimate Lemming

Hey guys!

A lemming is having an uncontrollable desire for a particular nail polish after seeing a picture of someone else wearing that colour.
I had The Ultimate Lemming for the nail polish Formula X TNT. I have been wanting this nail polish ever since it came out ten months ago! Unfortunately it wasn't available in Denmark and it still isn't. Fortunately a friend of my boyfriend was able to buy it for me!

TNT is a matte cobalt blue glitter in a clear base.
The formula was fantastic - the perfect middle way between thick and thin. The glitter pay-off was perfect as well!
Down below I used one coat of Formula X TNT over the light blue nail polish Essie Borrowed and Blue.

This is definitely my favorite glitter topper now! It is just perfect!

Essie Lollipop

Hi girls!

Today I have a swatch and review of my favorite red nail polish: Essie Lollipop.
Lollipop is a bright red crelly nail polish.

The formula is great - it is nice and easy to apply. The opacity is also good - a little sheer on the first coat but easily builtable with just two coats. After the two coats you can see a little bit of a visible nail line, but nothing that noticeable.

This is my favorite red nail polish and I just love how bright and pretty it is.

Fancy Friday: Bikini-inspired

Hello ladies!

Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday challenge is matching a bikini! Down below is the bikini I decided to be inspired by with the nail polishes I decided to use.

For the manicure I started off with a pink base of Essie Lovie Dovie. Afterwards I used a nail art striper and the blue nail polish Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (original formula) to draw on the horizontal stripes.

I really like how these turned out and how well they are matching my bikini!

Maybelline Superpower Blue

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of the beautiful nail polish Maybelline Superpower Blue.
Superpower Blue is a blue creme with teal undertones.

The formula was great - it was easy to work with and really creamy. The opacity was amazing as well and it was a OCW! The polish is so pigmented that I will recommend applying two coats of base coat to prevent any staining on your nails.

I love this blue nail polish and especially at that price (5 $)!
What do you girls think about this blue? Let me know in the comments!

Golden rain in the urban jungle

Hey guys!

Today I want to show you guys the simple manicure that I wore today.

For the manicure I used the light beige nail polish Essie Urban Jungle with a chunky gold glitter accent nail of Maybelline Undress to Impress - pun in title intended.

I love this simple manicure!

Waterfall

Hi girls!

Sorry about the silence on the blog this last week, but I just moved and it has been really stressful. Fortunately I am back and ready to show you guys some nail art I did today - a waterfall manicure!

For the manicure I started off with a mint blue base of Essie Mint Candy Apple. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the silver/gold glitter Essie Beyond Cosy to make random lines in different lengths down the nail to make it resemble a waterfall.

I love a good waterfall manicure and this one is no exception.
