OPI You Are So Outta Lime!

Hey guys!

Today I have another OPI nail polish from the new OPI Neon Collection to swatch and review for you - OPI You Are So Outta Lime!
You Are So Outta Lime! is a bright green neon.

The formula was great - it applied like a crelly, but it was nice and creamy. The opacity was great as well. I used two coats for the photo below.

I am loving this color! It is so bright and just perfect for summer!

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons

Hey guys!

Today I have another OPI nail polish to swatch and review for you - OPI Life Gave Me Lemons from the new OPI Neon Collection.
Life Gave Me Lemons is neon yellow with green undertones.

The formula was good - it applied like a crelly and it was a little streaky on the first coat, but easily build-able with three thin coats. The opacity was okay - as good as one can expect from a yellow nail polish.

I really like how bright and summer-y with polish is.

Fancy Friday: Girly

Hi girls!

Today I have some more Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday challenge is girly, so I decided to go all out with a pink base and a glitter gradient!

For the manicure I started off with a light pink base of Essie Fiji. Afterwards I used Essie Set in Stones to make the gradient effect down the nail.

I love how girly and cute these turned out - perfect for today's challenge.

OPI Race Red

Hi girls!

Today I have an OPI polish to swatch and review for you guys - OPI Race Red from the new OPI Mustang Collection!
Race Red is an awesome orange-red creme polish.

The formula was perfect - it was a dream to apply. The opacity was amazing as well! It was almost a one-coater, but I applied two coats to assure there wasn't any visible nail line. My only problem with this polish is that it dries a tone darker on the nail than in the bottle.

I usually do not like orange for nail polish, but for some reason I love this color!

Fancy Friday: Cloud Manicure

Hello ladies!

Today I have some more Fancy Friday nail art to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday Challenge is doing a cloud manicure. If you guys do not know what a cloud manicure is, I found a simple tutorial here by Jane at Nail Side.

When I saw what the challenge was this week, I remembered my first try at doing a cloud manicure a little over a year ago. That is why I decided to recreate my first try and make a 'Then and Now', to show you guys how much I have developed this last year.

Then

For the 'Now' manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice. Afterwards I followed Jane's tutorial using the silver polish Essie No Place Like Chrome and the royal blue polish Essie Mesmerize.

Now

I have really developed a lot this last year and I am really proud of myself!
What do you girls think about the 'Now' manicure? Let me know in the comments!

Fabulous Fruits: Strawberry

Hey guys!

Today I have something new for you: a fruit nail art theme I decided to call Fabulous Fruits.
The first nail art I did for the theme is strawberry nails!

For the manicure I started off with a red base of By K. The Sky is the Limit on all my nails. Afterwards I used green and yellow acrylic paint to paint on the details of the strawberries with a small nail art brush.

This is the first time I used acrylics paint for nail art and I am actually really happy with the result!

Essie Ruffles & Feathers

Hi girls!

Today I have an Essie polish to swatch and review for you guys - Essie Ruffles & Feathers.
Ruffles & Feathers is a beautiful teal green creme polish.

The formula was amazing - it was really nice and easy to apply. The opacity was great as well - really pigmented and a OCW if you are careful. My only problem with this polish is that it is so pigmented that you need two coats of base coat to avoid staining on your nails.

This green is my favorite green ever, and as I wrote yesterday one of my favorite polishes!
What do you girls think about this green? Let me know in the comments!

The Classics: Favorite

Hello ladies!

Today I have the last blog post in the series of blog post concerning classic nail polish colours that every woman should own!

Everybody needs as least one favorite nail polish, that is not a traditional colour (such as red, pink or nude). It could be a colour that makes you happy or just your favorite colour with your favorite finish (metallic, sparkle, frost etc).
A woman's nail polish stash should consist of the basic colours (the classics) in a few different shades and then a lot of fun and beautiful favorites!

I chose my four favorite nail polishes to show you guys today.

L-R: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Essie Hide & Go Chic, Essie Ruffles & Feathers and Essie Too Taboo

Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (original formula) is a bright cobalt blue.
Essie Hide & Go Chic is a deep azure blue.
Essie Ruffles & Feathers is a teal green.
Essie Too Taboo is a bright fuschia - the perfect berry shade!

This concludes the series of blog post concerning classic nail polish colours that every woman should own.
Now I have talked a lot about which colours are necessities in every woman's nail polish collection, but remember you can vary within these colours with their finishes and shades (dark or light). Also remember the seasonal colours: you should wear darker colours in the fall and winter, pastels in the spring and more vibrant, bright and maybe neon colour in the summer.

What are you girls favorite polishes? Let me know in the comments!

Waterfall

Hey guys!

Today I have another manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K. to show you - a waterfall manicure!

I started off with a teal base of By K. no. 79 Glacier. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the green glitter polish By K. no. 80 Waterfall (there is no point in hiding where I got my inspiration) to make random lines in different length down the nail to make it resemble a waterfall.

I love how these turned out!

Fancy Friday: Stamping

Hi girls!

Today I have another Fancy Friday manicure to show you guys!
This time the Fancy Friday challenge is stamping.

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice. As I only have one stamping plate, I used that and the bronze nail polish Essie Penny Talk to stamp moustaches on all of my nails.

It is actually my first time stamping and unfortunately I am really not happy with the result.

Estée Lauder Tumultuous Pink

Hello ladies!

At my graduation party I got two new Estée Lauder nail polishes from my aunt and uncle: Insolent Plum and Tumultuous Pink.
Today I will be showing you the last mentioned.

Tumultuous Pink is dark raspberry pink creme polish.
The formula was amazing! The pigmentation was perfect and it was a definite OCW (One Coat Wonder)!

I love everything about this nail polish: the beautiful color, the shiny finish, the amazing formula, the brush, the bottle - should I go on? It is just perfect!

Ps. This Estée Lauder shade reminds me of Essie Watermelon - let me know if you would like to see a comparison between the two.

Watercolor with OPI Sheer Tints

Hello ladies!

A few days ago I received the OPI Sheer Tints in the mail and today I made some watercolor nail art with the collection.
I was inspired by this manicure by The Polishaholic.

For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by Phoenix Beauty Lounge using the OPI Sheer Tints: I'm Never Amberrassed (yellow), Be Magentale With Me (pink), Don't Violet Me Down (purple) and I Can Teal You Like Me (blue).

I love how these turned out and I think that the Sheer Tints is worth purchasing just for the ability to make this kind of watercolor nail art!

Dotted Swirls

Hey guys!

Today I have another manicure for the Danish nail polish brand By K. to show you.
I am totally in love with nail art featuring dots these days, so I decided to make another dotted swirl manicure inspired by Lucy at Lucy's Stash!

For this manicure I started off with a light purple base of By K. no. 78 Lavender Blue. Afterwards I followed this tutorial using the purple polish OPI Funky Dunkey and the white polish Essie Blanc.

I love how this turned out and I wore it for my graduation party!

Fancy Friday: Neon

Hello ladies!

Today I have another Fancy Friday manicure for you guys.
This time the Fancy Friday challenge is neon and I decided to use my newest neon polish: China Glaze Flip Flip Fantasy.

For the manicure I started off with a neon orange base of China Glaze Flip Flip Fantasy. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the white polish Essie Blanc to paint on vertical lines.

I think my nails look kinda like lollipops or little pieces of candy!
What do you girls think of this manicure? Let me know in the comments!

Polka Dots

Hi girls!

Today I made some more nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. using one of the polishes from their new summer collection - no. 79 Glacier.

I made a simple dotticure and started off with the turquoise nail polish Glacier. Afterwards I used a small dotting tool and the white nail polish Essie Blanc to dot on a polka dot pattern.

I always love a good dotticure and I think this one turned out perfect!

Roskilde Festival

Hi girls!

Today I have a manicure inspired by Roskilde Festival for the nail polish brand By K. to show you guys!

"Roskilde Festival is a festival held south of Roskilde in Denmark. It is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and the largest in Northern Europe." (Source).
This year some of the people behind By K. is participating Roskilde Festival with Rising and UNFAIR Fashion at the Arena Drive event and that is why they asked me to make a some nail art inspired by the festival.

For the manicure I made a gradient with the orange polish By K. no. 65 Hallo Hallow and the sand-coloured polish By K. no. 58 Jet Steam. I was inspired by this manicure by Juli at JauntyJuli.

If I was going to Roskilde Festival, this is definitely how I would do my nails - they are simple and matches the Roskilde Festival theme (orange).
What do you girls think? Would you wear this to Roskilde Festival? Let me know in the comments!

The Classics: Glitter

Hello ladies!

Today I have another blog post for the series of blog posts concerning classic nail polish colours that every woman should own!

Glitters is like accessories for your nails and must-have in every nail varnish collection. If your manicure needs a little extra, adding a glitter topper is the way to go!

I chose four different glitters from my collection.

L-R: China Glaze Fairy Dust, Essie Jazzy Jubilant, Essie Set in Stones and L'Oréal Confettis

China Glaze Fairy Dust is fine silver holographic glitter - perfect for layering over gradients or other nail art.
Essie Jazzy Jubilant is a multicoloured chunky glitter - a fun glitter that goes with pretty much any base colour.
Essie Set in Stones is a silver chunky glitter - the best glitter for accent nails to add that little extra.
L'Oréal Confettis is a black and white chunky glitter - a glitter that is good over everything.

Which glitter do you girls like the best? Let me know in the comments!

No Buy July

Hey guys!

This previous month I have spend way too much money on nail polish and nail polish related products. That is why I have decided to do a No Buy July! I am not allowed to buy any of the previously mentioned items in the whole month of July.

I know it sounds hard, but the nail polish brand By K. is sending me their brand new summer collection for swatching, I myself have a few nail polishes on the way in the mail and my boyfriend is going to Germany for vacation so I am hoping he brings back some KIKO polishes for me.

Wish me luck and stay polished!
- Louise.
