Thermal

Hi girls!

Today I have a swatch and review of the thermal nail polish Born Pretty #18931 in the color 103 to share with you guys!
103 is blue when it is in its warm state and purple when it is cold.

The formula was really good - not to thick and not to thin, and really easy to apply. It was nearly a one-coater, but I used two thin coats for the picture below. The thermal effect was amazing as well and it shifts perfectly between the two colors! On the picture it makes a gradient effect as it is warm near the cuticles but cold at the end of the nails.

This nail polish is from Born Pretty Store and it costs $3.99 for 6 ml.
If you guys plan on buying something in Born Pretty Store, remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 for 10% off your entire order and free international shipping! Check out their nail art items here.

I really like the thermal effect in this nail polish and I am definitely going to buys some more!

piCture pOlish Nail Art Quarterly

Hello ladies!

Yesterday I participated in the new piCture pOlish Nail Art Quarterly competition on my Instagram! Today I will show it here as well! The theme was Flower Power and I made a skittlette featuring Hibiscus flowers.

For the manicure I started off with a nude base of Cherish on all my nails except for my pinky, which I painted pink with Sizzle. Then I freehanded the Hibiscus flowers on my middle and ring finger with Sizzle, O'hara, black acrylic paint and a small nail art brush.

I really like how this floral nail art turned out!

Funky French

Hey guys!

Today I have some simple nail art to show you - a funky french manicure!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on all my nails. Afterwards I used black striping tape to make the simple, french manicure design.

The striping tape I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a 0.8 mm tape roll (#20356 in the color #15) and there is a lot of other colors to choose from.
I really like this striping tape as it is different colors than normal striping tape (matte pastels instead of shiny metallics), it is easy to use and because it so cheap (it is only $0.99!).
If you want to buy something in Born Pretty Store, remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 for 10% off your entire order and free international shipping! Check out their nail art items here.

This french manicure is so simple, yet so cool!

F.U.N Lacquer Million Dollar Dream

Hello ladies!

Today I have another F.U.N Lacquer swatch to show you guys - this time it is of Million Dollar Dream!
Million Dollar Dream is a gold holographic glitter in a clear base.

The formula was good - a little on the thick side, but that just made it easier to apply. The glitter pay-off was amazing and it is opaque on its own in three thin coats or one coat followed by one sponged coat. It does dry a little textured so you will need to add a generous layer of top coat to smooth it out.

Another beautiful F.U.N Lacquer! I need more! I need more holo in my life!

She sells sea-shells...

Hi girls!

Today I have a manicure inspired by Cathy at More Nail Polish to show you guys!

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of Essie Salt Water Happy on all my nails, except for my pinky on which I applied the silver texture polish OPI It's Frosty Outside. Afterwards I applied silver striping tape, pearls, silver caviar beads, and silver shell studs to my middle and ring finger.

The silver shell studs I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a wheel (#21238) with shell studs, starfish studs and square studs - each in two different colors and two different sizes.
I really like these studs as they are perfect for summer, easy to use, and because they are so cheap (the wheel costs $4.39 for a lot of studs!).
If you guys want to buy something in Born Pretty Store, remember to use my coupon code for 10% off your entire order and free international shipping! Check out their nail art items here.

The studs I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of 20 (#16677) and you can chose from silver and gold.

Leopard

Hey guys!

Today I have some leopard nail art to show you guys. To me a leopard manicure is the perfect pallet cleanser (when speaking of nail art).

For the manicure I started off with a nude base of OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around on all my nails. Afterwards I followed my own tutorial using a dotting tool, the brown nail polish OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries, and black acrylic paint.

I love a good leopard manicure!

F.U.N Lacquer 24 Karat Diamond

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of F.U.N Lacquer 24 Karat Diamond to show you guys!
24 Karat Diamond is a silver holographic glitter in a clear base.

The glitter pay-off of this polish is AMAZING and it is completely opaque with three thin coats (or one normal coat followed by one sponged coat). The formula is a little thick because of all the glitter, but that just makes it easier to apply.

This nail polish is so freaking beautiful! It looks like a unicorn puked all over my nails and the holo is SO strong! The picture does not do it any justice, but I uploaded a video to my Instagram!

This holo is so beautiful I could die!

Today I made a simple manicure featuring smeared lipstick with one of my new charms from Daily Charme!

For the manicure I started off with a pink base of OPI Mod About You on all my nails. Afterwards I used the red polish Essie Happy Wife Happy Life and a small nail art brush to freehand the smeared lipstick across the nails. To finish off the manicure I applied the lipstick charm to my pointer.

I think this manicure turned out so fun!

In an alternate universe...

Hey guys!

Today I made a space manicure inspired by the talented Tam of @ohmygoshpolish.

I started off with a black base of piCture pOlish Darcy. Afterwards I followed this tutorial by Tam with the following polishes: OPI Silver Canvas, OPI Primarily Yellow, OPI Chromatic Orange, OPI Purple Perspective, OPI Turquoise Aesthetic, and OPI Pen & Pink - all from the Color Paints collection. I added the moons and small planets with a dotting tool and the white OPI Alpine Snow.

This solar system is almost the same as ours as Earth is no. 3 planet from the Sun!

Strawberries

Hello ladies!

Again, again the lovely Milena of Nail That Design and I made twin nails together!
This time we decided to make some freehand nail art featuring strawberries.

For the manicure I started off with a mint green base of OPI That's Hula-rious on all my nails. Afterwards I freehanded the strawberries and flowers on my middle and ring finger with a small nail art brush and acrylic paint in red, green, white, and yellow. To finish off the skittlette I applied the gold glitter China Glaze Golden Enchantment to my pinky.

Milena and I both think our own manicure is a nail fail, so for fun we call this twin fails!

Pastel Galaxy

Hello ladies!

Today the sweet Milena of Nail That Design and I made another pair of twin nails together - this time we made a pastel galaxy manicure.
You can check out Milenas blogpost here!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of OPI Alpine Snow on all my nails. Afterwards I used a make-up sponge dabbed with random blobs of nail polish (piCture pOlish Chillax, piCture pOlish Instinct, and piCture pOlish Mad Magenta) followed by a white layer to tone them down and make them more pastel, to make the gradient effect. Then I applied the holographic glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust to all my nails. To finish everything off I used a small dotting tool, a small nail art brush and the white nail polish to add small planets and stars.

I really like how our pastel galaxy manicures turned out!

Fancy Friday: Summer Drink

Hello ladies!

Today it is time for another Fancy Friday manicure.
The challenge this week is to be inspired by my favorite summer drink. I enjoy a cold Coca Cola with ice cubes and a slice of lemon (and maybe even a splash of rum), so that was what I was inspired by.

For the manicure I started off with a red base of Essie Happy Wife Happy Life on all my nails. Afterwards I used a small nail art brush and the silver nail polish Essie No Place Like Chrome to make the Coca Cola inspired lines down my middle and ring finger. To finish off the skittlette I applied the lemon Fimo cane slice to my pinky.

I really think you can see what I got inspired by!

No-Rub Gel Review

Hi girls!

Today I have a review of the No-Rub Gel to share with you guys!
The No-Rub Gel is an acetone gel for easy removal of glitter polish with no rubbing.

First things first: bling up!
I started off with four different glitters (from pointer to pinky): Essie Rock at the Top, OPI Honey Ryder, L'Oréal Gold Leaf, and China Glaze Golden Enchantment. The black base is Essie Licorice.

When the polish was completely dry all the way through, I followed the instructions on the jar:
1. Dip the nail in the jar and cover it completely with the acetone gel. Remember to close the lid tightly.
2. Let the acetone gel sit on the nail for 4 minutes.
3. Wipe off the gel and nail polish with a paper towel. Wash hands with soap.

And now for the results.
It does exactly what it promises!
Compared to the foil method this product is quicker and easier to use, but does the same thing. Upon removal of the acetone gel, there was a little polish residue around my cuticles, but it comes right off with a little rubbing. Other than the polish residue, I am really happy with this product.

Glitter removal is gonna be so much easier now!
