Hey guys!
Today I made a little tutorial on how to clean up around your nails.
Let's get started!
Products used:
- Nail polish
- Acetone or nail polish remover
- An angled nail art brush
Start off by applying any nail polish you adore. Here I used the black Essie Licorice.
As you can see in the picture there is some nail polish outside of the nail, which makes it look messy.
Use an angled nail art brush dipped in acetone or nail polish remover to remove the residue nail polish around the nail by swiping the brush along the curve and sides of the nail as seen in the picture.
This clean-up technique is really easy and it makes your manicure look like it is done by a professional!
The brush I used for this clean-up tutorial is from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a set of 15 brushes (#8793 in the color Light Green) with brushes in different shapes and sizes for both nail art and clean-up purposes.
I really like this set as it has brushes for everything (striping, detailing, clean-up, the dry brush technique etc.), they are of great quality, they look really pretty with the green handles and they are really cheap (only 8.02$!).
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.
I hope you guys found this clean-up tutorial and brush review useful!

Fancy Friday: Favorites of 2014
Hello ladies!
Today I have this year's last Fancy Friday challenge: my favorite manicures of 2014.
Down below I have chosen my personal top 5 manicures from 2014.
Number 5
My fifth most loved manicure from 2014 is this very simple manicure featuring pastel studs. I love how some studs can turn any simple manicure into something more interesting.
You can see the blog post for this simple manicure here!
Number 4
My number four favorite manicure from 2014 is this stamped christmas sweater skittlette. I just recently got into stamping and I definitely need some more practice, but I really like the technique.
You can check out the blog post for this manicure here.
Number 3
My third most loved manicure of 2014 is this dry marble skittlette. I love this simple technique and especially this one with two lovely blue shades!
You can check out my blog post about this manicure here.
Number 2
A close second favorite manicure of 2014 is this beautiful water marble skittlette manicure I wore for the first day of uni. Even though water marbling is the hardest technique for me, I love how it turns out every time!
You can see my blog post about this manicure here.
Number 1
My absolute favorite manicure from 2014 is this tribal print gradient manicure that I made for Neglenymferne! In 2014 I really got into gradients as they are so easy to do (except for the clean-up part) and look amazing.
You can see my guest blog post here and my own blog post here.
Which of the nail art I made this year is your favorite? Which are your favorite of your own creations?
Let me know in the comments!

Wish List
Hey guys!
Today I would like to share my wish list for christmas this year with you!
My boyfriend have granted me a corner of our apartment so I can make a nail polish corner. That is why the first part of my wish list is furniture from IKEA to said corner.
I already own two red Helmers, but I wish for two new ones in white as that is the theme color of my nail station - that way my nail polishes will be in focus. I also wish for a high gloss white table top, so the Helmers will be part of my desk. Instead of a traditional desk chair, I wish for an Erland chair and some faux sheep skin so I can sit comfortably while doing my nails. Lastly I wish for a work lamp and some basket insert for the Helmers, so I can organize all my nail art accessories.
The second part of my wish list is - of course - nail polish!
First of all, I wish for the collector's item Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin! Futhermore I wish for two of the new Essie Matte Cashmere shades: Coat Couture (matte mauve-grey with aqua-blue shimmer) and Spun in Luxe (matte black with blue shimmer). Moreover I wish for some more of the absolutely amazing piCture pOlish shades: O'hara (red with scattered holo), Kryptonite (green with scattered holo), Shy Violet (purple with scattered holo), Holiday (micro-glitter and flakies in a clear base), Minty (mint polish with red and white chunky glitter) and Fool's Gold (teal blue with gold glitter). Lastly I wish for a subscription for Nail It! magazine.
What do you guys wish for this christmas? Let me know in the comments!

Snowmen
Hey guys!
♫ Do you wanna build a snowman? ♫
Today I have some snowman nail art for you guys!
For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Borrowed & Blue on all my nails except for my pinky which I painted with a textured silver of OPI It's Frosty Outside. For the nail art on my middle and ring finger I applied some snowman water decals.
The water decals I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. They come on a sheet (#9971 in the pattern BLE117) with a lot of different decals - christmas trees, snowmen and santa hats to name a few. There are also a lot of other christmas water decals in different styles and motives.
I really like these water decals as they are easy to apply, look really awesome on and are really cheap (they are only 0.99$!).
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.

Christmas Trees
Hi girls!
In November I made some christmas nail art for the Danish nail polish brand By K. and during December I will be showing them to you.
First up is a christmas tree manicure!
To make this christmas tree manicure I started off with a fuchsia base of By K. Pink Dahlia. For the nail art on my ring and middle finger I used some tape and the teal green glitter By K. Waterfall to make triangles resembling christmas trees. Afterwards I used the silver holographic glitter By K. Super Nova and an orange stick to place the glitters like tinsels on the christmas tress. Lastly I placed the gold star studs from Born Pretty Store (#5003) on top of the trees.
I really like how I used untraditional christmas colors and how this turned out really christmas-y anyway!

Fancy Friday: Lead Light
Hello ladies!
Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to share with you guys.
Today the challenge is lead light, which is a technique by Messy Mansion, where you add color to your stamping design with sheer nail polishes.
For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc on all my nails. Afterwards I stamped the floral design on my middle and ring finger with MoYou London Pro plate collection 07 and Mundo de Uñas black stamping polish. Then I colored in the stamping design with the sheer nail polishes OPI Sheer Tints: I'm Never Ambarassed (yellow), Be Magentale With Me (pink), Don't Violet Me Down (purple) and I Can Teal You Like Me (blue). To finish off the skittlette manicure I added the silver glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust to my little finger.
I like the sketchy style of this nail art.

Fancy Friday: Watercolor
Hello ladies!
Time for some more Fancy Friday nail art!
Today the challenge is watercolor and I made a very simple skittlette manicure with a watercolor base.
For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I used the OPI Sheer Tints: I'm Never Amberassed (yellow), Be Magentale With Me (pink), Don't Violet Me Down (purple) and I Can Teal You Like Me (blue) to make the watercolor background of the manicure. On my ring and middle finger I applied a small, square stud from Born Pretty Store (#5003) and on my pinky I applied the silver glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust.
I made a watercolor manicure once before and I love it just as much this time!
What do you girls think about this nail art? Let me know in the comments!

Stamping
Hello ladies!
Today I made some nail art that I would like to share with you guys - a floral skittlette manicure!
For the manicure I started off with a red base of Essie Lollipop on all my nails. Afterwards I made the floral nail art on my middle and ring finger by making stamping decals following this tutorial by Lucy at Lucy's Stash (using MoYou London Pro Plate Collection 07, Mundo de Uñas Black stamping polish and the white nail polish Essie Blanc). To finish off the skittlette I applied China Glaze Fairy Dust on my pinky.
I really like how this skittlette turned out!
What do you girls think about these stamping decals and this skittlette? Let me know in the comments!

Picture Polish Forget Me Not
Hi girls!
Today I have a swatch and review of my very first (and definitely not last) piCture pOlish shade - Forget Me Not!
Forget Me Not is a dusty blue with a scattered holographic finish, which is a collaboration polish with Kate at Lacquertude (read about her inspiration here).
The formula was amazing - it is was creamy and so easy to apply. The opacity was great as well - two thin coats and you are good to go!
I love this shade of blue - just perfect!
What do you guys think about this? Let me know in the comments!

Fancy Friday: Favorite
Hey guys!
Today I have some Fancy Friday nail art to share with you ladies!
This time the challenge is favorite nail polish or favorite nail art. I took it to the next level and made my favorite nail art using my favorite nail polish in my favorite color from my favorite brand.
My favorite nail art is gradient nails, my favorite nail polish is Essie Mesmerize, my favorite color is blue and my favorite brand is Essie.
For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Borrowed & Blue. Afterwards I made the gradient effect with a make-up sponge and the following blue nail polishes: Essie Borrowed & Blue, Essie Avenue Maintain and Essie Mesmerize.
It is a perfect day to wear blue nails: it is World Diabetes Day and I want to raise awareness as my boyfriend has Type 1 Diabetes.
I cannot stop staring at my nails and I love how these turned out!

Floating French
Hell ladies!
Today I have some nail art to share with you guys - a floating french manicure.
For those of you who do not know what a floating french manicure is, it is a french manicure tipped 90 degrees so the curve is on the edge of the nail instead of along the tip.
For the manicure I started off with a light blue base of Essie Mint Candy Apple. Afterwards I used French Tip Nail Vinyls from Glam My Mani and the silver nail polish By K. Moon Dust to achieve the floating french look.
I really love how this floating french turned out - definitely not the last time I will make one!

Pastel Studs
Hey guys!
Today I have some simple nail art to share with you featuring pastel studs.
For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I applied some pastel blue and pastel pink studs using a wax pen to easily pick them up and place them on the manicure (review of the wax pens here).
The studs that I used for this nail art are from the Born Pretty Store. They come in a wheel (#12408) with three different colors (this one has pastel blue, pastel pink, and pastel orange) and four different shapes (leaf, round, and small and big squares). They also come in three other color combinations, that I already ordered (they are so pretty)!
I really like this wheel as the colors are amazingly beautiful, there are a lot of different shapes to choose from and you get a lot for your money (it's only 2.96$)!
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping. Click here to see their nail art products.
I love how this manicure turned out!

Wax Pen Review
Hi girls!
Today I have a review of some wax pens from the Born Pretty Store to share with you guys!
Wax pens are practical nail tools that are becoming more and more popular in the nail art world. They are used to pick up and place rhinestones, studs, beads and other nail art decorations on to your manicures.
The wax pens I received from the Born Pretty Store (#3975) came unsharpened, but when I had sharpened them like I would a normal pencil, they worked like a charm! They are made of soft wax, which need to be moistened a little at the very tip before it can stick to and hold the studs, but after that they can pick up pretty much any size studs - from the biggest ones (as in the picture) to the smallest beads. They come in packs of two and they are really cheap (only $1.99)!
If you want to buy something in the Born Pretty Store remember to use my coupon code SXKQ10 to get 10% off on your entire order and free international shipping! Click here to see their nail art products.
I love how easy these wax pens are to use - so much better than tweezers. They are really useful and a must-have for a nail art addict like myself.

Movember
Hi girls!
Today I have some nail art to share with you guys.
This month is Movember (a portmanteau from moustache and November), which is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers. That is why I decided to raise awareness, not by growing a moustache, but by making some moustache nail art!
For the manicure I started off with a dark brown base of Essie Partner in Crime on my ring finger, middle finger and pinky and with a gold base of Essie Good as Gold on my pointer and thumb. Afterwards I used Essie Good as Gold to stamp moustaches with MoYou Rebel Plate Collection 01 on my ring and middle finger. Lastly I applied the gold glitter Essie Rock at the Top (review and swatch next week) on my pinky.
I love MoYou London stamping plates and I am currently awaiting a huge order from them!

Fancy Friday: Halloween
Hello ladies!
Time for some more Fancy Friday nail art!
Today the challenge is Halloween and I decided to make a red splatter manicure to make it look like I just killed someone *insert evil laugh here*.
For the manicure I started off with a white base of Essie Blanc. Afterwards I used a regular straw and the red nail polish By K. The Sky is the Limit to make the splatter effect on all my nails - you just dip the straw in the polish and blow the polish out on your nails. It was really easy to do, but clean-up took forever!
I really love how this Halloween nail art turned out and I am going to wear it to a Halloween party tonight!
What do you guys think about it? Let me know in the comments!

Fall Skittlette
Hi girls!
Today I have some fall nail art to share with you guys - a super simple fall skittlette manicure.
For the manicure I started off with a dusty purple base of Essie Smokin' Hot (one of my favorite shades for fall) on all my nails. Afterwards I applied some gold diamond-shaped studs on my ring and middle finger using a wax pen to easily pick up the studs (review on the wax pens will be up monday). To finish of the skittlette manicure I applied a gold leaf top coat from Dance Legend on my pinky.
The studs that I used for this nail art are from the Born Pretty Store. They come in a wheel (#5003) with gold and silver studs in tons of different shapes and sizes - hearts, stars, squares and diamonds to name a few. I really like this wheel as there is a lot of different studs to pick from and you get a lot for your money (it's only 3.67$)!

Products used:
- OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around
- OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries
- Essie Licorice
- A dotting tool
Start off with a base coat to protect your natural nails. Then apply two coats of a light brown polish. Here I used OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around.
Use a big dotting tool and a brown polish to make some random dots and shapes around the nails. For the brown I used OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries and I got my dotting tools on eBay.
Use a small dotting tool and black nail polish to outline the dots with different c-shapes. The black polish is Essie Licorice.
When you are done outlining the dots, let your nails dry for about 10 minutes and seal in your design with your favorite top coat.
Here is the finished result.
I love leopard print nails and they are so easy to make!
