Yves Saint Laurent Peace Green

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the beautiful Yves Saint Laurent Peace Green.
Peace Green is a sea-foam green with a goldish pink shimmer.

The formula is great and easy to work with - it slides onto the nail like butter. The formula is good too. It is a little on the thin side and it is opaque in three thin coats.

And here it is close-up.

This polish is stunning.
What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!

Nail the Mail Box

Hey guys!

Today I have the Nail the Mail box for December to share with you!

Nail the Mail is a Danish nail polish shop that ships to most of Europe. They made this nail polish subscription box that you can read all about here.

The December box contains Foxy Paws Step Into Christmas, OPI Shine for Me, Lacquester Taling, and the little something extra this month is a four-sided nail buffer.

First up is Lacquester Taling - a pretty teal with gold shimmer and blue and gold glitters.
The formula is great. It is easy to apply and the brush is amazingly easy to work with! The opacity is good too and it is opaque in two coats - unfortunately it looks sheer on the pictures even though it is completely opaque in real life.

Here it is matte inspired by the amazing swatches by Greedy Little Baby!

And close-up!
I did not think much of this polish in the bottle, but it is beautiful on the nails!

Next up is Foxy Paws Step Into Christmas, which is a pretty dark purple jelly with a holographic shimmer and iridescent shards.
The formula and opacity on this one is fantastic - two easy coats and top coat.

Matte!

Close-up!
I am loving this shade - just amazingly beautiful!

Last swatch is of OPI Shine for Me - silver and blue glitters in a clear base.
The formula is great and the glitter pay-off is good. It is almost opaque in three coats (as above), but I would recommend it as a glitter topper over another polish.

The little something extra is this four-sided nail buffer - a must-have in every nail polish addict's nail care collection!

Another amazing box!
What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!

Ps. this box is sponsored by Nail the Mail, but everything I write about it is my honest opinion.

Nail the Mail Box

Hey guys!

Today I have the Nail the Mail box for November to share with you guys!

Nail the Mail is a Danish nail polish shop that ships to most of Europe. They made this nail polish subscription box that you can read all about here.

The November box contains piCture pOlish Scarlett, Appeal4 Midnight Green, a glitter polish from Sorbet Seams, and the little something extra is nail foil.

First up is piCture pOlish Scarlett - a beautiful dark pink with a bijou holo finish.
The formula is nothing less than amazing and it applies like a dream. The opacity is great as well and it is technically opaque in one coat, but the second coat really deepens the color.

Here is a macro-shot of Scarlett. You can really see the beautiful bijou finish in this picture.

Next up is Appeal4 Midnight Green, which is a dark teal jelly.
The formula is good on this one - it is easy to apply and not too thick nor too thin. The opacity is not that good, but I expected nothing less, as it is a jelly polish - their opacity is supposed to be this way. I used three thin coats for the picture above.
A few days ago I made a jelly sandwich with this lovely polish. Check it out here.

The last polish of the box is this awesome glitter polish from Sorbet Seams. The polish contains glitter in almost all shapes and sizes ranging from metallics to black - all in a clear base.
The glitter pay-off on this one is great with minimum digging needed - on the picture above I used one coat. Even though there is a lot of glitter in this polish, it is really easy to apply.

The little something extra this month are these pretty nail foils (look at that holo!).

I am ecstatic about this month's box and all the products are amazing! You've done it again Nina!
What do you guys think about it? Let me know in the comments!

OPI Give Me Space

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of OPI Give Me Space from the new OPI Starlight Holiday 2015 collection!
Give Me Space is a dark blue scattered holo.

The formula was amazing and it applies to the nail like a dream. It is opaque in two thin coats and it dries really fast, which makes for a quick manicure.
The holo is not visible inside, but in the sun (or under the flash-light on your phone LOL) it is beautiful!

I am so glad brands like OPI is finally making scattered holos! More of that please!

Indie Nail the Mail Box

Hey guys!

Today I have the Indie Nail the Mail Box for October to share with you!

Nail the Mail is a Danish nail polish shop that ships to most of Europe. They made these monthly nail polish subscription boxes - a Indie Box and a Mixed Box. Usually the indie box contains two polishes - one handmade indie nail polish made just for the box and one indie nail polish from one of the bigger indie makers, but this month there are three polishes. It also contains a little something extra for nail care or nail art.
You guys can read more about the boxes here.

The October box contains: Appeal4 Pinky Pine, Appeal4 Coconut Pine, Ms. Sparkle Princess Diaries, and the little something extra is Vølve Cuticle Creme.

First up is Pinky Pine, which is a pink creme with a purple shimmer.
The formula was amazing and easy to apply. The opacity was not that good though and it needed three thicker coats for full coverage. Fortunately the dry time was great, so the three coats was bearable.
This color is so pretty and I love the subtle shimmer!

Next up is Coconut Pine - matte, white hex glitters in various sizes in a clear base.
The polish was really easy to apply and the glitter pay-off was fantastic with no digging needed!
Above is one coat of Coconut Pine over Pinky Pine.
I love a good matte glitter and this polish is no exception.

Lastly is Ms. Sparkle Princess Diaries, which is a white crelly with pink shimmer, metallic shards, and a holographic finish.
The formula was a little on the thick and gloopy side, but it was okay to apply. The opacity was good and it was opaque in three thin coats.
This shade is really special, but I do not know if I like it. Maybe without the metallic shards?

The little something extra is Vølve Cuticle Creme. It smells delicious and I really look forward to trying it. Let me know in the comments if you want a full review on this!

Overall I am happy with this month's indie Nail the Mail box!

Appeal4 Magical Sea-Lion

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of Appeal4 no. 145 Magical Sea-Lion to show you!
Magical Sea-Lion is a deep blue shimmer.

The formula was good - a little on the thin side, but still easy to work with. The opacity was great and it was opaque in two coats. It does not stain upon removal which is a huge plus for me!

This color perfect for fall and winter! So beautiful!

Indie Nail the Mail Box

Hey guys!

Today I have something new to show you: the Indie Nail the Mail Box!
Nail the Mail is a new Danish nail polish shop that ships to most of Europe. They made these monthly nail polish subscription boxes - a Indie Box and a Mixed Box. The indie box will contain two polishes - one handmade indie nail polish made just for the box, one indie nail polish from one of the bigger indie makers and a little something extra for nail care or nail art.
You guys can read more about the boxes here.

This box contains Foxy Paws My Friend Has a Swimmingpool, Glisten & Glow Mayday Malone and the little something extra: Appeal4 A-peel Off-base. And best of all: the polishes comes in the sweetest little black box!

Foxy Paws My Friend Has a Swimmingpool is a blue scattered holo with a teal undertone.
The formula was amazing and it was really easy to apply. The opacity was great as well and it was opaque in two thin coats.
This color is so beautiful - perfect for summer!

Glisten & Glow Mayday Malone is a dark grey linear holo.
The formula was a little on the thin side, but not so much that it was drowning my cuticles. It was opaque in three thin coats.
I did not think much about this color until I saw it in the sun - and then wow!

Appeal4 A-peel Off-Base is a peel-off base for glitter polish. You just apply 1 or 2 coats of this directly on your natural nail before you apply the glitter polish.

I am already loving these monthly subscription boxes and I cannot wait for the next one!

My piCture pOlish

Hello ladies!

Today I have some piCture pOlish swatches to show you guys!
Jules (very generously) sent me three shades as part of the My piCture pOlish initiative on Instagram.

First up is Bright White which is a white creme.
The formula is great for a white polish - it is creamy and really easy to work with. The opacity is good as well and it covers in three thin coats or two thicker ones.
I love a clean white and this one is amazing!

Next is Electric Dream. Electric Dream is a pink scattered holo with a gold shimmer.
The formula on this one is amazing! It applies to the nail like butter! It was opaque in two thin and easy layers.
This shade is so bright and vibrant - perfect for summer!

The last shade is Escapades - a dark teal scattered holo.
The formula was nothing less than perfect and it was opaque in two thin coats!
I love this nail polish! It is dark, but not so dark that it looks black and it applies like a dream!

I love piCture pOlish more and more! You can buy their shades in their own on-line store or at one of their distributers and remember to check out their Instagram and YouTube.

For the manicure I started off with a nude base of piCture pOlish Cherish on my middle finger, pointer and thumb, and a bright green/blue base of piCture pOlish Chillax on my ring finger and pinky. Afterwards I applied gold temporary tattoos to the nail on my middle finger and up the finger all the way up my hand.

How cool are these temporary tattoos? I need more!

Triangular

Hello ladies!

Today I made some awesome nail art inspired by @sloteazzy!

For the manicure I started off with a blue base of the beautiful shimmer polish Essie Aruba Blue on all my nails. Then I followed this tutorial by sloteazzy using striping tape, the matte top coat Essie Matte About You and triangular studs.

The studs I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. They come in a pack of 20 (#16677) and you can chose from silver and gold.
I really like these studs as they are easy to use and because they look so cool on the nails!

April Nail Art Challenge: Freehand

Hello ladies!

Today it is time for another manicure for the April Nail Art Challenge with Fancy Friday!
The challenge today is freehand and I made this cute bobby pin design inspired by lieve91 on Instagram.

For the manicure I started off with a scattered holographic nude/taupe base of piCture pOlish Cherish. Afterwards I freehanded on the bobby pins with black acrylic paint and a small nail art brush.

Even though the details are far from perfect, I love the result!

Exam

Hello ladies!

Tomorrow I have an exam in neurobiological psychology and today I painted my nails green, as green is the colour of hope!

I decided to wear piCture pOlish Hercynia.
Hercynia is a forest green polish with a holographic bijou finish.
The formula was good - it was really easy to apply with minimum clean-up. The opacity was good as well. I applied two coats on the picture below, but it could have used three.

I am really nervous about my exam, but I love how my nails look!

Fancy Friday: Astronomy

Hello ladies!

Today it is time for another Fancy Friday manicure. The theme this week is astronomy and I made a galaxy manicure with my new Yves Saint Laurent Nuit Noire, which means black night!

Three coats with one layer of top coat

For the manicure I started off with Yves Saint Laurent Nuit Noire on all my nails. Nuit Noire is a black jelly polish with black and silver square glitter and a pearlescent shimmer. It takes three coats to build up to full opacity. Afterwards I used a make-up sponge and the following polishes to make the galaxy effect on my nails: OPI Alpine Snow (white), Essie Mesmerize (blue), Essie Borrowed and Blue (light blue), and Essie No Place Like Chrome (silver).

Even though Nuit Noire is difficult to work with, I love how it looks on the nails!

Queen

Hi girls!

As I said earlier, I always call myself Queen Louise as a joke and today I made a manicure inspired by just that!

For the manicure I started off with the beautiful piCture pOlish Freya's Cats on all my nails. Afterwards I applied the crown charm in the still wet top coat on my ring finger.

Freya's Cats is a royal blue scattered holo (get it? Royal blue). The formula is awesome and it applies like butter! The opacity is good as well and the polish is opaque in two coats.

The crown charm I used for this manicure is from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a pack of two (#17695 in the model #514), but they are reusable if you clean them with nail polish remover or acetone after use. They also come in other models in different shapes (bows, crowns, and flowers) and sizes.
I like these charms as they are an easy way to turn any manicure into something a little more festive and fun, they are easy to use, and they are really pretty!

The bow charm I used for this nail art is from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a pack of two (#17695 in the model #711), but they are reusable if you clean them with nail polish remover or acetone after use. They also come in other models in different shapes (bows, crowns, and flowers) and sizes.

Essie Coat Couture

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of Essie Coat Couture from the new Essie Cashmere Matte Collection to share with you guys!
Coat Couture is a taupe/purple matte nail polish with aqua blue shimmer.

The formula was amazing, it was easy to work with and it was really self-levelling - especially for a matte polish. The opacity was amazing as well and it was opaque in just two thin coats.
Down below I used two coats and no top coat.

And here it is with a shiny top coat.

Twin Nails

Hi girls!

Today I have something different to show you guys - twin nails I did with the sweet Selina of @nailsbyselina.
We also used these manicures for a Danish challenge called MandagsMani (MondayMani), where the theme this week is window, which we interpreted as looking into a mirror (instead of out a window) and mirroring each other.

For the manicure I started off with the lilac creme Essie Lilacism on my thumb and pointer, the lilac/silver scattered holo piCture pOlish Lizzie on my middle and ring finger, and the dark purple scattered holo piCture pOlish Hussy on my pinky.
For the nail art on middle and ring finger I water marbled using Essie Lilacism, piCture pOlish Lizzie and piCture pOlish Hussy.

Doing twin nails was really fun and I hope it is not the last time I get the opportunity.

Fancy Friday: New Year

Hello ladies!

Today I have the first Fancy Friday challenge of 2015 for you guys - my New Year's nails!

As I stayed with my parents during the holidays I didn't have the equipment to make any nail art for New Year, so instead I wore piCture pOlish O'Hara, which is a red nail polish with scattered holographic shimmer that matched my red lipstick for New Year's Eve.

I also want to show you guys my New Year's manicures from 2012 and 2013 to show you how much I have developed these last years!

New Year 2013

I am really proud of how much I have developed!
