Black Cheese

Hey guys!

Today I have some negative space nail art inspired by MVK on Instagram.

For the manicure I started off with a black base of Essie Licorice on my pinky, ring, and middle finger. Afterwards I used a small brush dipped in acetone to remove some of the polish again in circles to create the negative space effect. On my pointer and thumb I applied the lilac polish Essie Lilacism.

Matte!

Close up!

I really like this edgy manicure!

Cirque Colors Vice 2016

Hey guys!

Today I have swatches of the new Cirque Colors Vice 2016 collection to share with you!
These polishes is sponsered by Minta.dk, but everything I write about them is my honest opinion.

First up I have High Roller.
High Roller is an awesome minty neon. The formula on this one is fantastic and it is opaque in two easy coats! Simply stunning.

Next is Rehab - a blurple (blue/purple) creme.
Another amazing formula with full opacity in two thin coats. It does dry a little matte, so I recommend a shiny top coat. Such a gorgeous shade.

Next up I have Electric Daisy, which is a neon yellow with strong green undertones.
This was the hardest polish to work with in the collection - it was streaky, uneven and needed three somewhat thick coats to be opaque. But look at that neon!

Time for Plastik!
Plastik is a bright magenta creme. The formula on this one is perfect - it glides on the nail like butter and it is opaque in two easy coats. I am in love with this color!

Next up is Sin City - an amazingly neon coral shade.
The formula on this one was great and it was opaque in two thin coats. It was really hard to capture true in color on pictures - it is just so neon!

Finally I have We Trippy, which is a holographic top coat.
I applied one thin coat on top of Plastik.

And here it is on top of Sin City (look at that neon and holographic explosion!).

I LOVE THIS COLLECTION! The colors are beautiful and (except for Electric Daisy) they are amazing to work with!

piCture pOlish Spring

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the beautiful piCture pOlish Spring.
Spring is a purple-leaning pink polish with scattered holo particles.

The formula is amazing and easy to apply - it is a little on the thick side, but I prefer it that way. The opacity is great as well and it is opaque in two thin coats.

I love this shade - it is the perfect pink that is not too girly.
What do you guys think about it? Let me know in the comments!

Orange is the New Black

Hey guys!

I have already binge-watched the entire fourth season of Orange is the New Black and in episode 7 Aleida Diaz wore a beautiful french manicure with a vampy purple base and gold tips - and I just had to recreate it!

For the manicure I started off with a dark purple base of Max Factor Amethyst on all my nails. Afterwards I used the gold polish Essie Good as Gold to freehand the french tips.

And here is my inspiration (like Aleida I always do my own nails).

Screenshot from Orange is the New Black S4E7

I love finding inspiration in weird places like this!

piCture pOlish Nail Art Annual 2016

Hey guys!

Yesterday I participated in the piCture pOlish Nail Art Annual 2016 competition.
The theme of the challenge is 'Impressionist' and we were to pick a painting by Claude Monet to be inspired by.

For the manicure I used A LOT of piCture pOlish shades and black and white acrylic paint. I freehanded the entire design with a small nail art brush, except for the gradient in the background on my ring finger and pinky for which I used a make-up sponge.

Here is a list of the piCture pOlish shades used:
Freya's Cats
Glitch
Shy Violet
Cyan
Paris (original)
Sorbet
Enchanting
Hercynia
O'hara
Bardot

And here is the Claude Monet painting I was inspired by - one of his many water lilies paintings.

I am so honored, proud and happy for this opportunity - thank you so much piCture pOlish!

Saran Wrap

Hey guys!

Today I have a skittlette featuring the saran wrap technique to share with you!

For the manicure I started off with a purple base of Essie Shade On on my thumb and pointer, a white base of CND Cream Puff on my middle and ring finger, and a blue base of Barry M Damson on my pinky. Afterwards I dotted random blops of Essie Shade On, Barry M Damson and the red polish By K. Oy-Mak on my middle and ring finger and smeared it together with a piece of saran wrap.

Close-up!

I love the saran wrap technique (except for the clean up part)!

Nimbus

Hey guys!

Today I have some nimbus nail art inspired by The Nailasauras to show you!

For the manicure I started off with a purple base of Essie Shades On on my pointer and thumb, a white base of CND Cream Puff on my middle and ring finger, and a lilac base of By K. Lavender Blue on my pinky. Afterwards I followed The Nailasaurus' tutorial using the two purple polishes and Essie No More Film to make the nimbus design on my middle and ring finger. To finish everything off I applied a silver stud to my pinky.

Close-up!

I love the nimbus technique (even though it is hard to master)!

Appeal4 We Need All Holographic Everything

Hey guys!

Today I have swatches and a review of the beautiful, new Appeal4 collection We Need All Holographic Everything - a collection consisting only of (you guessed it) holos!

First up is H1 Cosmic Crush - a gunmetal grey scattered holo.
The formula on this one is perfect - not too thin and not too thick. It is opaque in two thin and easy coats.
This one is definitely my favourite shade from the collection - b-e-a-uuuu-tiful!

Next up the H2 Eternal Vibe - an olive green scattered holo.
The formula on this one is great as well - a little on the thinner side though, but it does not run down the sides of my nails or anything. It needed three coats to be completely opaque.
This shade is so unique for a holo - I have never seen anything like it!

Next polish is H3 Amp Up Your Holo - a teal blue scattered holo.
The formula on this one is good and it is easy to apply. The opacity is great as well and it is opaque in two coats.

H4 Addicted To - a silver scattered holo with strong blue undertones.
The formula on this one is like H2 Eternal Vibe - a little on the thin side. It was opaque in three thin coats.
This shade is really unique in a holo as well - I love it!

Next we have H5 Karma Cameleon - a lilac scattered holo with a gold shimmer.
The formula on this one is like H2 and H4 - a little on the thin side (but I do tend to prefer thicker formulas in polishes). It needed three coats to be completely opaque.
This polish is the most unique in the bunch - I have never seen a scattered holo with a shimmer in it as well!

H6 Out-of-this-world is a stunning purple scattered holo.
The formula is great on this one! And it only needs two easy layers to achieve complete opacity.

Last up is H7 Cosmic Runway - a pink scattered holo.
The formula on this one is good and it is opaque in three coats. This polish did have a few unmixed pieces in it, but not too many.

All in all I love this collection! So many unique shades!

Gradient

Hey guys!

Today I have another gradient to share with you guys!

For the manicure I started off with a half-an-half base of the green Essie Going Guru (from the new Essie Resort 2016 collection) and the lilac Essie Nice is Nice. Afterwards I used a make-up sponge and the two polishes to create the gradient effect.

I am in love with this color combination!

It's My Birthday!

Hey guys!

Today is my birthday, so I made this festive skittlette!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of CND Cream Puff. Afterwards I used the OPI Sheer Tints to make the colorful base. Then I stamped the gifts and party hats on my middle and ring finger with Mundo de Uñas Black stamping polish and MoYou London Birthday 02. To finish off the skittlette I applied the holographic glitter China Glaze Fairy Dust to my pinky.

I love how festive and fun this turned out!

piCture pOlish Big Bang

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the beautiful piCture pOlish Big Bang to share with you!
Big Bang is a dark purple polish with scattered holo and flakies.

The formula is good - a little on the thick side for my preference, but not too bad. The opacity is great and it is opaque in two coats.

And close-up!

This polish is so unique and amazingly beautiful!

Mani Swap

Hey guys!

Today I made a mani swap with the amazingly talented Eva of Coewless! I love all her perfect freehand nail art, but I wouldn't even try to recreate that, so I chose her cute multicoloured polka dot mani and she chose my polka dot skittlette - she even made the bow herself!

For the manicure I started off with a white base of CND Cream Puff on all my nails. Afterwards I made the polka dots with a small dotting tool and the following polishes: OPI I Just Can't Cope-Acabana (yellow), Essie Avenue Maintain (blue), Essie Lapiz of Luxury (purple), Essie Lovie Dovie (pink), Maybelline Coral Craze (self-explanatory), and Essie Mojito Madness (green).

I am so honored that Eva wanted to do this mani swap with me!

Nail the Mail Box

Hey guys!

Today I have the Nail the Mail box for December to share with you!

Nail the Mail is a Danish nail polish shop that ships to most of Europe. They made this nail polish subscription box that you can read all about here.

The December box contains Foxy Paws Step Into Christmas, OPI Shine for Me, Lacquester Taling, and the little something extra this month is a four-sided nail buffer.

First up is Lacquester Taling - a pretty teal with gold shimmer and blue and gold glitters.
The formula is great. It is easy to apply and the brush is amazingly easy to work with! The opacity is good too and it is opaque in two coats - unfortunately it looks sheer on the pictures even though it is completely opaque in real life.

Here it is matte inspired by the amazing swatches by Greedy Little Baby!

And close-up!
I did not think much of this polish in the bottle, but it is beautiful on the nails!

Next up is Foxy Paws Step Into Christmas, which is a pretty dark purple jelly with a holographic shimmer and iridescent shards.
The formula and opacity on this one is fantastic - two easy coats and top coat.

Matte!

Close-up!
I am loving this shade - just amazingly beautiful!

Last swatch is of OPI Shine for Me - silver and blue glitters in a clear base.
The formula is great and the glitter pay-off is good. It is almost opaque in three coats (as above), but I would recommend it as a glitter topper over another polish.

The little something extra is this four-sided nail buffer - a must-have in every nail polish addict's nail care collection!

Another amazing box!

Ps. this box is sponsored by Nail the Mail, but everything I write about it is my honest opinion.

Halloween

Hey guys!

Today I have some Halloween nail art inspired by The Nail Trail to show you!

For the manicure I started off with a white base on all my nails. Afterwards I made a twilight gradient with Essie Smokin' Hot (dark purple), Essie Warm & Toasty Turtleneck (light purple), and By K. Dandelion (the barely visible yellow). Lastly I freehanded the graveyard silhouette with a small nail art brush and watered down black acrylic paint.
