Fancy Friday: Skittlette

Hello ladies!

Today I have another Fancy Friday manicure for you guys!
Fancy Friday is a group of Danish nail polish keen bloggers, that follows a joint challenge in the world of nail polish and nail art every friday.

This time the Fancy Friday challenge is a skittlette manicure!
If you do not know what a skittlette manicure is, you can read about how Marta from Chit Chat Nails explains it here.

For the manicure I used the much discussed nail polish Sally Hansen Pacific Blue on my thumb and index finger, Essie Licorice with Essie Blanc dots on my middle and ring finger and OPI It's Frosty Outside on my pinky.

I am obsessed with how this turned out! I am definitely going to make more skittlette manicures in the future!
What do you girls think? Let me know in the comments!

Stay polished!
- Louise.

OPI Couture de Minnie Collection

Hello ladies!

Today I have swatched and reviewed OPI's second Minnie Mouse Collection - The Couture de Minnie Collection.
The collection includes three gorgeous shimmers, an awesome glitter and a beautiful liquid sand, all in the girly light pink to red colour scheme.

INNIE MINNIE MIGHTIE BOW
A red polish with a shimmer running throughout.
The formula on this one was great - a little on the thin side, but really opaque. It was almost a one-coater, but below I used two coats to be on the safe side.
I love this polish - a classic red with a little extra!

MAGAZINE COVER MOUSE
A strawberry red liquid sand nail polish with different colours of shimmers within - gold and pink being the most visible ones. So beautiful!
The formula was great - a little on the thick side, but that only made it easier to apply. The opacity was great as well. For the photo below I used two coats.

A DEFINITE MOUST-HAVE
A hot pink with a pearlescent-like shimmer running throughout.
The formula was good - a little on the thin side, but it was nice, creamy and really opaque. Like Innie Minnie Mightie Bow it was almost an one-coater, but I used two coats for the photo below.

CHIC FROM EARS TO TAIL
A light bubblegum pink with a very, very subtle shimmer.
The formula was okay - nice and buttery, but the opacity was really bad - I needed four coats for it be opaque enough.

MINNIE STYLE
Magenta and white hexagon and square glitters in a clear base - so awesome!
The formula on this one was great, but the glitter pay-off wasn't. I feel like the best way to apply this polish, is to dab on the glitters in the desired areas of the nail. For the photo below I used one to two coats over Chic from Ears to Tail.

All in all I really like this collection - amazing colours and great formulas.
What do you girls think of this collection? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo

OPI Alcatraz...Rocks

Hi girls!

Today I have a review and swatch of an OPI liquid sand nail polish to show you guys - OPI Alcatraz...Rocks from their San Francisco Collection for Fall 2013.

Alcatraz...Rocks is a deep, smokey navy/purple textured nail polish with different colours of shimmers within - gold and purple being the most visible ones. A really unique and pretty polish!

The formula of the polish was great - a little on the thick side, but that only made it easier to apply, as it is filled with glitters and other heavy texture-pieces.
The opacity of the polish was also good - two thick coats and you are good to go! In extension of the opacity, the wear time is amazing as well. I wore it for a good four days without any chipping - and if it chips anyway, a little fresh polish on the chipped part fixes it easily and unnoticeably!
The dry time was also okay - half an hour to forty-five minutes before it is completely dry.

For the photos below I used two thick coats and no top coat.

Do you girls like this textured nail polish? Do you like textured polishes in general?
Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo
- Louise.
