Then and Now

Hey guys!

Today I have some Then and Now manicures to share with you!
I recreated this polka dot manicure from 2014.

For the manicure I started off with a red base of Essie Lollipop on all my nails. Afterwards I used a dotting tool and some watered-down white acrylic paint to create the polka dots.

Close up!

And here is a comparison of Then and Now.

I am actually more proud of my improvement in photo-editing and hand-posing than my improvement in nail art skills!

Essie Playing Koi

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the beautiful fall color Essie Playing Koi.
Playing Koi is a burnt orange crelly.

The formula on this polish is good and easy to work with. It is a little on the thin side for my taste though, but I tend to like the formulas to be thicker. The opacity was good as well and I applied three thin coats. The dry time was amazing and I did not need to wait between the three coats.

I seriously think this is the perfect fall colour!

piCture pOlish Saphira

Hey guys!

Today I have a swatch and review of the beautiful piCture pOlish Saphira that I got at Nail the Mail to share with you!
Saphira is a dark blue crelly with holographic glitter and scattered holo.

The formula is great - not to thick and not to thin and it is easy to apply. It was opaque in two thin coats so the opacity is great too.

Close-up!

I am loving blue shades right now - especially the darker ones and this one is no exception!

Ps. this polish is provided to me for swatches and review by Nail the Mail, but everything I write about it is my honest opinion.

piCture pOlish Kryptonite

Hi girls!

Today I have a swatch and review of piCture pOlish Kryptonite to share with you guys!

Kryptonite is a dark green crelly with a scattered holographic shimmer.
The formula was really nice - it went on easily and smooth, and it was opaque in just two thin coats.

I really love the depth of this polish!

Decisions, decisions

Hey guys!

I have so many untried polishes right now, I don't even know which one(s) to try on first (a real first world problem, right?)! I actually made a deal with myself that I won't buy any more nail polish until I have tried them all!

Today I would like to share two of my untrieds with you guys: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pop Art and piCture pOlish Minty.

Yves Saint Laurent is a red crelly (a mix of creme and jelly - read more about it here) that is opaque in two thin coats. I love bright reds so of course I needed this one in my life!
piCture pOlish Minty is a mint green crelly with matte white and dark pink glitter and a scattered holographic shimmer - so unique.

I love these two together!
What do you guys think about this combination? Let me know in the comments!

Yves Saint Laurent Bleu Cyclades

Hi girls!

Today I have a swatch and review of another Yves Saint Laurent nail polish - the beautiful Bleu Cyclades from their Summer 2014 Collection.
Bleu Cyclades is a deep blue shimmer.

The formula was amazing - it was smooth, easy to apply, and opaque in just two thin coats with no staining upon removal! I really do think that Yves Saint Laurent polishes are worth the extra money - they are just perfect!

I love this polish - it is dark, but it's like it's shining from within!

Yves Saint Laurent Bleu Majorelle

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of my very first (and definitely not last) Yves Saint Laurent nail lacquer - the iconic and beautiful Bleu Majorelle!
Bleu Majorelle is a vibrant blue crelly.

I am completely overwhelmed with this nail lacquer: the colour, the formula, the opacity, the dry-time, the shine - everything is just perfect! It was so easy to apply and it was opaque in just two thin coats!

Oh my god this polish has everything! I need more.

Essie Dress to Kilt

Hello ladies!

Today I have a swatch and review of one of the polishes from the new Essie Dress to Kilt 2014 Fall Collection - the name-sake of the collection: Essie Dress to Kilt!
Dress to Kilt is a cranberry red crelly.

The formula was great - it was smooth and easy to apply just as the other polishes I have tried from the same collection. The opacity was good and it was opaque with two coats.
It is not the most unique red out there, but it is sooo shiny - you don't even need a top coat!

I love darker reds for fall and Dress to Kilt is just perfect for that!
What do you girls think about this red? Let me know in the comments!

Essie Style Cartel

Hey guys!

Those of you following me on Instagram, saw my picture (and my exaggerated #hashtags) of my newly received Essie Dress to Kilt Collection Fall 2014.

Today I have a swatch and review of one of the polishes from the new collection - Essie Style Cartel, which is a dark navy blue crelly.

The formula was amazing - it was nice and so easy to apply. The opacity was fantastic as well - so pigmented that I applied two coats of base coat to be on the safe side. And the best part is that the finish is so shiny that you can almost see my reflection in the nails - how amazing is that?
I used two thin coats for the picture below.

I love a good blue and this one is perfect for fall!

Essie Lollipop

Hi girls!

Today I have a swatch and review of my favorite red nail polish: Essie Lollipop.
Lollipop is a bright red crelly nail polish.

The formula is great - it is nice and easy to apply. The opacity is also good - a little sheer on the first coat but easily builtable with just two coats. After the two coats you can see a little bit of a visible nail line, but nothing that noticeable.

This is my favorite red nail polish and I just love how bright and pretty it is.

OPI You Are So Outta Lime!

Hey guys!

Today I have another OPI nail polish from the new OPI Neon Collection to swatch and review for you - OPI You Are So Outta Lime!
You Are So Outta Lime! is a bright green neon.

The formula was great - it applied like a crelly, but it was nice and creamy. The opacity was great as well. I used two coats for the photo below.

I am loving this color! It is so bright and just perfect for summer!

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons

Hey guys!

Today I have another OPI nail polish to swatch and review for you - OPI Life Gave Me Lemons from the new OPI Neon Collection.
Life Gave Me Lemons is neon yellow with green undertones.

The formula was good - it applied like a crelly and it was a little streaky on the first coat, but easily build-able with three thin coats. The opacity was okay - as good as one can expect from a yellow nail polish.

I really like how bright and summer-y with polish is.

Medina by GOSH

Hey guys!

Medina is a Danish pop, dance and R&B singer and songwriter. She is one of the most famous singers in Denmark and she cooperated with the Danish cosmetics company GOSH to create a line of cosmetics called Medina by GOSH consisting of make-up, nail polishes and fragrances.
Today I have swatches of two out of the eight nail polishes from Medina by GOSH.

The first nail polish I have for you guys is called Mocca.
Mocca is a tan nude or light brown creme polish. The formula was good - almost a one-coater, but I applied two coats for the picture down below. The only problem I had with this polish was that it was not very self-leveling.

Medina is a deep red crelly polish. The formula was good - nice and smooth. The opacity was also great - almost a one-coater as well, but I applied two coats to cover up any VNL.
I am in love with this shade of red - it is just perfect!

I also made some nail art with the two polishes from Medina by GOSH. I was inspired by this manicure by The Nailasaurus.
In this manicure you can really see how well the two colours go together!

Lastly I would like to show you guys one of my favorite song by Medina.

I love these Medina by GOSH polishes!

Essie Truth or Flare

Hello ladies!

Today I tried on a new polish from the Essie Spring 2014 Collection Hide & Go Chic - Essie Truth or Flare.
Truth or Flare is a dusty grey/blue crelly, or as Essie describes it a 'vintage blue denim'.

The formula of the polish was okay - a little sheer, but opaque with three easy coats.
I have to say, even though the formula was not the best, I am in love with this polish! The colour is amazingly beautiful and just perfect for winter and spring!

What do you girls think? Do you like the colour of this polish?
Let me know in the comments!

xoxo
